Three Basque gorgeous spots: the beaches of Barrika and Zumaia and the footbridge of Gaztelugatxe have been awarded at the Location Managers Guild International Awards. They are HBO´s long-running Game of Thrones outstanding locations and have become touristic spots in the Basque Country, Spain.
The success of these locations is a challenge for local representatives. They are trying to manage the crowds of visitors during the high season in order to preserve the beauty and uniqueness of the places.
It is possible to visit these tree spots in a whole-day Walk On the Basque Side through amazing cliffs, starting either from Bilbao or San Sebastián. During the day we can know about the Basque Coast Geopark, recently a member of the European and Global Network of Geoparks.
I want to thank Javi for his beautiful picture of the winding bridge of Gaztelugatxe, that leads from Dragonstone´s beach to the castle in Game of Thrones
